March 2014 House Design Plans

March 2014 House Design PlansA roof is part of any building envelope. It's the covering on the uppermost part of a building or shelter which gives protection from pets and weather, notably rain or snow, but also heat, wind and sunlight. The word denotes the framing or framework which supports that covering also.[1]The characteristics of a roof are centered upon the goal of the building so it protects, the available roof materials and the neighborhood traditions of building and wider principles of architectural design and practice and could also be governed by local or nationwide legislation. In most countries a roof protects against rain primarily. A verandah may be roofed with material that protects against sunlight but admits the other elements. The roof of your garden conservatory protects plants from cold, wind, and rain, but admits light.September 2012 Kerala home design and floor plansShack made of date hand branches at Neot Semadar, IsraelA rooftop might provide additional liveable space, for example a roof garden. The elements in the design of a roof are:the materialthe constructionthe durabilityThe material of any roof may range between banana leaves, wheaten straw or seagrass to laminated glass, copper (see: copper roof covering), aluminium sheeting and pre-cast concrete. In lots of parts of the global world ceramic tiles have been the predominant roofer material for years and years, if not millennia. Other roofer materials include asphalt, coal tar pitch, EPDM plastic, Hypalon, polyurethane foam, PVC, slate, Teflon cloth, TPO, and solid wood shakes and shingles.Chief Architect Roof Design Tips YouTubeThe construction of a roof depends upon its approach to support and how the underneath space is bridged and whether or not the roof is pitched. The pitch is the position at which the roof rises from its least expensive to highest point. Most US home structures, except in very dried up areas, has roofs that are sloped, or pitched. Although modern construction elements such as drainpipes might remove the need for pitch, roofs are pitched for reasons of tradition and looks. So the pitch is partly dependent after stylistic factors, and partially to do with practicalities.Roof Types Barn Roof Styles amp; DesignsSome types of roofer, for example thatch, require a steep pitch to become durable and waterproof. Other types of roofing, for example pantiles, are unstable over a steeply pitched roof but provide excellent weather protection at a comparatively low angle. In parts where there is little rainfall, an almost level roof with a slight run-off provides sufficient protection against an occasional downpour. Drainpipes remove the dependence on a sloping roof structure also.House Plan Designs: Roof Design Beach House PlanSomebody who specializes in roof construction is named a roofer. The durability of an roof structure is a matter of matter because the roof is usually the least accessible part of a building for purposes of repair and renewal, while its destruction or devastation can have serious results.March 2014 House Design PlansBecause the reason for a roof top is to safeguard people and their possessions from climatic elements, the insulating properties of a roof covering are a factor in its structure and the choice of roofing material. Some roofing materials, specifically those of natural fibrous material, such as thatch, have excellent insulating properties. For those that do not, extra insulation is often installed under the external level. In developed countries, nearly all dwellings have a ceiling installed under the structural members of the roof. The goal of a roof is to insulate against temperature and cold, sound, dirt and frequently from the droppings and lice of parrots who frequently choose roofs as nesting places.September 2012 Kerala home design and floor plansCement tiles can be used as insulation. When installed leaving a space between your tiles and the roof top surface, it can reduce heat caused by the sun.Forms of insulation are noticed or plastic material sheeting, sometimes with a reflective surface, installed below the tiles or other materials directly; synthetic foam batting laid above the ceiling and recycled paper products and other such materials that may be inserted or sprayed into roof cavities. So called Cool roofs have become progressively popular, and sometimes are mandated by local codes. Cool roofs are thought as roofs with both high reflectivity and high thermal emittance.Chief Architect Roof Design Tips YouTubePoorly insulated and ventilated roofer can have problems with problems including the formation of glaciers dams surrounding the overhanging eaves in winter, causing drinking water from melted snow on top parts of the roof to permeate the roofing materials. Ice dams appear when heat escapes through the uppermost part of the roof, and the snow at those true details melts, refreezing as it drips across the shingles, and collecting in the form of ice at the low points. This can lead to structural damage from stress, like the destruction of gutter and drainage systems.
