roofing design

roofing designA roof is part of the building envelope. It's the covering on the uppermost part of an building or shelter which provides protection from pets or animals and weather, notably rain or snow, but also heat, sunlight and wind. The term also denotes the framing or structure which supports that covering.[1]The characteristics of the roof are reliant upon the goal of the building it includes, the available roofing materials and the local traditions of building and wider principles of architectural design and practice and may also be governed by local or countrywide legislation. In most countries a roof protects against rain primarily. A verandah might be roofed with material that protects against sun light but admits the other elements. The roof of your garden conservatory protects plants from cold, wind, and rain, but admits light.1800 sq.ft flat roof home design Kerala home design and floor plansShack manufactured from date hand branches at Neot Semadar, IsraelA roof top may provide additional liveable space, for example a roof covering garden. The elements in the design of a rooftop are:the materialthe constructionthe durabilityThe material of an roof may range from banana leaves, wheaten straw or seagrass to laminated cup, copper (see: copper roofing), aluminium sheeting and pre-cast cement. In many parts of the global world ceramic tiles have been the predominant roof covering materials for centuries, if not millennia. Other roofer materials include asphalt, coal tar pitch, EPDM silicone, Hypalon, reboundable foam, PVC, slate, Teflon fabric, TPO, and hardwood shakes and shingles.House Plan Terms Roof PlanThe construction of your roof is determined by its approach to support and how the underneath space is bridged and set up roof structure is pitched. The pitch is the angle of which the roof rises from its least expensive to highest point. Most US home structures, except in very dried up areas, has roofs that are sloped, or pitched. Although modern engineering elements such as drainpipes might remove the dependence on pitch, roofs are pitched for reasons of traditions and aesthetics. So the pitch is dependent after stylistic factors partly, and partially to do with practicalities.HIP ROOF HOME PLANS « Floor PlansSome types of roof, for example thatch, require a steep pitch in order to be durable and waterproof. Other styles of roofing, for example pantiles, are unstable on a steeply pitched roof but provide excellent weather protection at a relatively low angle. In areas where there is little rainwater, an almost flat roof with hook run-off provides satisfactory protection against an intermittent downpour. Drainpipes also remove the dependence on a sloping roof.August 2012 Kerala home design and floor plansA person that specializes in roof top construction is named a roofer. The durability of a roof top is a subject of matter because the roofing is usually the least accessible part of any building for purposes of repair and renewal, while its destruction or damage can have serious effects.roofing designBecause the reason for a roof structure is to protect people and their possessions from climatic elements, the insulating properties of the roof top are a consideration in its framework and the decision of roofing materials. Some roof materials, those of natural fibrous material especially, such as thatch, have excellent insulating properties. For those that do not, extra insulation is installed under the outside layer often. In developed countries, nearly all dwellings have a ceiling installed under the structural members of the roof. The goal of a roof is to insulate against warmth and cold, noises, dirt and grime and frequently from the droppings and lice of parrots who frequently choose roofs as nesting places.1800 sq.ft flat roof home design Kerala home design and floor plansConcrete tiles can be used as insulation. When installed leaving a space between your tiles and the rooftop surface, it can reduce heating up caused by sunlight.Types of insulation are thought or clear plastic sheeting, sometimes with a reflective surface, installed straight below the tiles or other materials; synthetic foam batting laid above the ceiling and recycled paper products and other such materials that can be inserted or sprayed into roof cavities. So called Cool roofs are becoming progressively more popular, and in some full cases are mandated by local codes. Cool roofs are thought as roofs with both high reflectivity and high thermal emittance.House Plan Terms Roof PlanPoorly insulated and ventilated roofing can suffer from problems such as the formation of snow dams throughout the overhanging eaves in cold weather, causing normal water from melted snow on upper elements of the rooftop to penetrate the roofing materials. Ice dams arise when high temperature escapes through the uppermost area of the roof, and the snow at those points melts, refreezing as it drips along the shingles, and collecting by means of ice at the lower points. This may lead to structural destruction from stress, including the damage of gutter and drainage systems.
